About us
Amani means peace
Amani Jeugdzorg was founded in the autumn of 2020 for families and young people in ’s-Hertogenbosch and the surrounding area. Besides outpatient care, we offer family guidance and carry out research. Our starting point is mutual understanding: help based on equality, trust and human contact.
How we work
Trust first, then the plan
We work in a culturally aware and culturally sensitive way: we take cultural habits, behaviour and needs into account, we connect with the client’s world and we respect every faith. Our care is systemic, so we look not only at the child but also at the parents and their surroundings.
-
Systemic
We work with the whole family and the people around them: grandma, the imam, the mentor at school. What changes at home has to be able to hold up outside it.
-
Culturally sensitive, not culturally determined
Background explains something, but it determines nothing. We say what we see, even when it is uncomfortable, and we say it in words that land.
-
Temporary, with an end
Our guidance lasts nine months on average. From the first conversation we work towards the moment when the family no longer needs us.
“They explained it as if I had thought of it myself. That’s how it suddenly became my own plan.”
